As it's the 4th of July, I'll say I'm thankful to have been born in America. I fuss a lot about what's wrong and what went wrong with this country, and unlike many, I'm unwilling to say it's the greatest nation on Earth because it smacks of hubris and pride. But there are plenty of perks, and I avail myself of them, and I am thankful for them.
I'm also thankful for good counsel. Between being on the receiving end of some harsh but necessary words from someone, the conversations with interesting people I've met recently, and words of wisdom from someone I value highly, I am much clearer than I was three days ago.
I'm thankful for a freakin' day off, too! ^_^
